Flowering cannabis plant with the United States flag

This page is the United States index for CBD cannabis seed. Each state and territory page covers the printed CBD:THC ratio, a local outdoor window, germination, and storage. Adults 18 and older can use it as a map.

Read the ratio first so a 20:1 pack does not get mixed with a 1:1 pack. Then read climate so Arizona storage is not treated like Maine storage. Then read germination and storage so leftover seed stays viable.

How to use the state pages

  • Open the page for your state or territory.
  • Note whether the pack is photoperiod or autoflower.
  • Match that to the outdoor window on the page.
  • Store what you do not start.

CBD:THC ratios

Breeders print ratios so you can sort packs. High-CBD low-THC lines, balanced lines, and THC-forward lines become different plants when they mature. The seed is still a seed. Details: How to Choose CBD Cannabis Seeds by CBD-to-THC Ratio and CBD vs high-THC seeds.

RatioHow packs often talkWhat it usually means
High-CBD, very low THCOften listed near 20:1 or higherCBD-forward flower or resin notes
Balanced CBD:THCOften listed near 1:1 to 2:1Both cannabinoids present on a typical COA
CBD-leaning moderate THCOften listed near 4:1 to 8:1A middle range when labels show both numbers
THC-forward with some CBDOften listed under 1:1 CBDNot the CBD-seed group; compare in the vs-high-THC guide

Climate, germination, and storage

The country runs from short Alaskan summers to Caribbean humidity. A closet in Denver and a porch in New Orleans are not the same storage job. State pages mention last-frost style windows and hardiness zones as grower shorthand. Pair them with the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map and NOAA climate at a glance when you want county-level numbers.

Indoor starts ignore frost and still need air. Outdoor talk on a state page is a sketch — March to October in one place, May to August in another. Do not copy a California finish time onto a Minnesota windowsill.

Damp, warm, oxygenated media, then gentle light. Paper towels, cubes, and direct mix all work when they stay like a wrung-out sponge. They fail in a closed wet box. Technique pages: GrowWeedEasy, Royal Queen Seeds, and Penn State starting plants from seed.

  • Check twice a day.
  • Move on a short taproot.
  • Give air after the hook.
  • Do not bake a cube on a heat mat at full blast.
  • Label the tray with the printed ratio.

Cool, dry, dark, labeled storage keeps leftover seed. A desiccant pack helps if it does not sit on the seed. Refrigerators work when the jar is sealed against kitchen moisture. Cars, attics, and greenhouse windows do not. See CannaConnection on seed storage.

Seed FAQ for the national hub

Does a high-CBD pack guarantee a lab number?

No. It names a ratio range. Plants vary. Read ranges, not posters.

Should I skip outdoor talk if I grow indoors?

No. Outdoor dates still tell you how the room and the leftover pack will be stored through summer and winter.

Are feminized CBD seeds a different moisture job?

Not at germination. Moisture and air are the same. The later garden is where regular, feminized, and autoflower matter.

Where do oils and edibles fit?

Use forms of CBD and types of CBD cannabis when you are not holding seed.

What if I only store packs?

Climate still matters. Damp and heat are the problems. Germination can wait.
